Civil Service Exam 2027 Schedule, Results and OCSERGS

Two Civil Service Exams are scheduled for 2027, and knowing which one you are actually filing for saves a lot of confusion. This is the full Civil Service Exam 2027 schedule: the March exam that is open now, the August exam that follows it, and how and when results come out.

The March 2027 exam

  • Exam: CSE-PPT, Professional and Subprofessional
  • Exam date: March 14, 2027
  • Online filing opened: November 2, 2026
  • Personal appearance: from November 3, 2026, for slot holders only
  • Filing closes: when slots fill, or as the CSC announces
  • Slots: 352,391 across 98 testing centers
  • Fee: ₱500, paid in person
  • Results target: May 11, 2027

There is no fixed application deadline for March. "Until slots are filled" is the deadline. Testing centers close one by one as they fill, and NCR and other big-city centers usually close first. If you are reading this during opening weeks and you have not filed, file now. Our walkthrough of how to apply online, step by step, gets you from account creation to a booked slot in one sitting.

The August 2027 exam

  • Exam date: August 8, 2027
  • Online filing opens: May 10, 2027
  • Results target: October 5, 2027

The August exam is your second chance if March slots run out, or if the 3-month rule blocks you from March. That rule says you cannot take the same level between December 14, 2026 and March 13, 2027 and still sit the March exam. People who took the same level in that window wait for August. The pattern is the same each cycle: file in the first days, because opening day is always the easiest day to get the center you want.

How slot filling really works

Think of each testing center as its own small pool. The 352,391 national total sounds huge, but your pool is only your center's share. Your dashboard in OCSEAS or eServe shows live availability per center. When a center's pool is gone, that center disappears or shows full, even while other centers still have room. Slots do not transfer between centers, and there is no waiting list. Picking a second-choice center with open slots is a real strategy, not a failure.

Between filing and exam day: ONSA

After your personal appearance, the last document you wait for is your ONSA, the Online Notice of School Assignment. It names your school and room assignment for exam day. On March 14, 2027, bring your ONSA, your valid ID, and a black ballpen, and arrive early. Gates and late rules follow the CSC advisory for your center, and latecomers can be turned away, so treat the call time seriously.

Results day and your rating

Results for the March exam are targeted for May 11, 2027. You check your rating through OCSERGS, the Online Civil Service Examination Result Generation System, using your examinee details. This system is only for results. You cannot apply there, and OCSEAS cannot show ratings. The passing general rating is 80.00.

If you pass, your next step is requesting your Certificate of Eligibility from the CSC. That certificate is what government offices ask for when you apply for a position that needs eligibility. If you fall short, the August cycle is already open or opening soon, and many people pass on a second try with better preparation.

What to do in each month of the cycle

November 2026 is filing month. If you want a March slot, this is when you create your account, upload your documents, and finish your personal appearance, which runs from November 3, 2026. December 2026 and January 2027 are for late filers at centers that still have room, plus careful review preparation. February 2027 is when you confirm your ONSA and your testing center, and settle your travel plan for exam morning. March 14, 2027 is exam day itself. April is the quiet wait. May 11, 2027 is the target results day, when OCSERGS carries the ratings.

For the August cycle, the rhythm shifts by roughly two months. Filing opens May 10, 2027, the exam is August 8, 2027, and results are targeted for October 5, 2027. If you are choosing between cycles, choose by readiness, not by hope. A March slot you are prepared for beats an August slot you drift into, and an August exam with three extra months of review beats a March exam taken cold just because the date came first.

One more date worth writing down: the 3-month rule window for March runs from December 14, 2026 to March 13, 2027. If you took the same level in that window, March is closed to you no matter how fast you file, and August is your exam.

Keep your dates in one place. Filed online from November 2, 2026; appearance from November 3, 2026; exam on March 14, 2027; results targeted May 11, 2027. Miss March and the same rhythm repeats from May 10, 2027 to October 5, 2027. The CSC online application homepage keeps the current cycle's facts updated as the CSC announces them.
